Goal: All educators share the responsibility for designing instruction that integrates language and literacy development with content learning. In order to accomplish this, during this session, educators will be shown how use content standards to plan instruction along with WIDA’s English Language Proficiency Standards to support differentiation by language proficiency level.  

 

Objectives of Session 3:

After participating in Session 3 all educators will be able to:  

  • Describe scaffolds to make grade level concepts comprehensible in receptive, productive, and interactive language and to support students to make informed and deliberate choices about language when speaking and writing.  
  • Utilize scaffolds in planning instruction for language instruction
