Next Steps for #GoOpenUSVI

I plan to design and facilitate presentations and trainings on #GoOpenUSVI for my colleagues, and invite them to share their resources.
What OER tools and practices will you utilize to continue and grow this work collaboratively throughout the islands? For example: I will remix resources used during this Academy, create additional resources for my content area, and share them in a group I will create for my collaborators. I will invite them to join and share their resources.

My plans are to provide support, train my colleagues and promote collaboration as we all share resources and learn from each other. If specific resources are directly responsible for moving students/class towards success or growth then teachers will have the opportunity to review those resources and utilize them in an effort to improve instructions as well.
I plan to develop and facilitate ESOL training for K-12 teachers working with ELs. I want to share sample lesson plans for language development. I want to create a list of resources and strategies teachers working with ELs can use in the classroom. I want to make sure that the hub supports teachers' needs when working with ELs. I want teachers to feel that this is a place they can come and share while being supported. This was a great way for me to reflect on what I want to see happening for teachers working with ELs.
I have a platform called e-connect. This is a platform/group for teachers sharing educational resources resources. This is a good venue to merge the two groups so we can collaborate and learn from each other as well. As an ambassador for education, I plan to train teachers also for professional growth an expertise. Thank you for this platform.
My goal is to train others how to use OER and how to add their resources. I also plan on creating some resources of my own as well, being sure to make them culturally relevant. I hope to be on the back end of OER, evaluating sources against criteria amongst other back end work. In a few days, I have learned so much in this academy that I can say, "Wherever I am needed, with proper training, I will be happy to assist."
I plan to use the platform to share strategies that work in fostering competence in students when it comes to applying strategies to solve mathematical situations. I want teachers to feel comfortable sharing their own observations that they gathered through their own action research within the classroom.
I will encourage searching for resources that the teacher may need help presenting, and or additional resources for their own enhancement.
I will also encourage taking part in the discussions as a form of collaboration.
I will need support with making sure that material I share is done with the correct approval.
My goal is to enhance my understanding on the OER work, to train my colleagues and educators on how to maneuver, work, upload, and add resources. Helping to train individuals not only based on their specific content area but overall. I would create a PowerPoint that can be accessed by anyone to help them enhance and understand the platform when it’s convenient to them. Sharing my knowledge will allow #GoOpenUSVI to reach the hands of many within the community.
OER tools and practices that I will utilize to continue and grow the work throughout the USVI, would be creating remixed resources and adding resources that I believe will help teachers within the territory. I will also add cultural resources that can be utilized by teachers. Throughout my practice, I will also invite others to create groups and add tags on the website.
