When you provide feedback on a resource site, the creator considers your input and may edit/update the resource to improve the effectiveness/usefulness to future users (and themselves). Because Open Educational Practices (OEPs) involves collaborative teaching and learning practices via Open Educational Resources (OERs), peer reviews (like leaving comments) acts as catalysts that may trigger action on the part of OER creators via this online collaboration where creators learn from other educators how to improve their products. .

Reviewing a resource allows different perspectives to be shared that the author may not have considered. That leads to editing the resource, possibly making it better. A review may also be one of praise, which can tell others that this may be the resource they need to use for a particular purpose.

Feedback is about taking the time to analyze and think of the best possible ways to improve a resource. Feedback will provide positive criticism and bring thoughts and different perspectives together.

As the term suggest open educational practices are open to a variety of perspectives, and suggestions can broaden the scope of relating to a variety of experiences.  Insightful suggestions and or additions to the resource allows for that resource to be tailored to learners of varied backgrounds and cultures.  The suggestions can surely instigate a broader scope of creativity.

Reviewing a resource and leaving a comment helps not only the creator of the resource to get beneficial feedback, but it also allows other individuals on the OER to review different viewpoints besides their own.
