The Regional Education Laboratory-Northeast & Islands (REL-NEI) U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) Partnership …
The Regional Education Laboratory-Northeast & Islands (REL-NEI) U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) Partnership to Strengthen the Early Childhood Workforce has compiled a selection of short, easily digestible materials to introduce the developmental benefits of joyful learning to all education stakeholders in the USVI, including parents and caregivers, principals, members of the Board of Education, and others. The goal of this packet is to provide teachers and administrators at every level with the resources they need both to learn how to implement joyful learning in the classroom and to explain to others how students benefit from these classroom practices.
Each resource is described in detail, along with links to additional resources for further learning. The resources are grouped by who is supporting children’s learning—caregivers, teachers, and administrators—although most are useful across groups. Materials have been provided in PDF format, to allow for digital distribution and printing; links to the resources are also provided in the descriptions. An additional video on joyful learning, based on classroom footage in the USVI, is in development and will be added to these materials in Fall 2024.
